What is prosthodontics and cosmetic dentistryWhile most people are familiar with the general procedures found at a regular dental office, not everyone has heard of prosthodontics. This specialized field of dentistry requires several additional years of residency beyond dental school. The focus is on the restoration or replacement of missing or broken down teeth with natural looking substitutes. There are several problems that this field covers, and multiple procedures that are available to provide patients with a functional and pleasing smile. Much like other areas of medicine, you can have a general dentist who may refer you to Dr. Sambursky for specific procedures they cannot perform, though a referral is not required. Some of the things you may be referred for include: discolored or crooked teeth, gaps or missing teeth, cracked fractured or broken down teeth, bite problems or issues with fixed bridges. This is just a small list of items that require Dr. Sambursky's specialty. You can ask your general dentist if they think you need a referral, or you can speak with Dr. Sambursky's qualified staff even without a referral. As a prosthodontist, Dr. Sambursky uses various procedures to treat a vaiety of different problems. Below is a list of these procedures. |
